Tsuyoshi Ito and Toshiyuki Fujita combined on a six-hitter and Gunma's Kiryu Daiichi scored three runs in the fourth inning to pull off a 3-2 victory over Shonan of Kagoshima Prefecture in the day's third game at Koshien Stadium.

The fourth game of the day between Kisarazu Sogo of Chiba Prefecture and Aomori's Kosei Gakuin was postponed until Saturday after a rain delay caused Friday's first game to start late.
