Money-rankings leader Todd Hamilton carded a final-round 3-under-par 69 as he came from behind to capture the 100 million yen Mizuno Open on Sunday and secure a place in next month's British Open.

Teeing off three shots off the lead, the 38-year-old American rolled in five birdies -- three straight from the fifth hole -- against two bogeys in blustery conditions at Setonaikai Golf Club in Okayama Prefecture to edge Australian Brendan Jones by one stroke on 10-under 278.

It was Hamilton's third win of the season following victories at the Fujisankei Classic in May, his first title in five years on the Japanese tour, and the Diamond Cup earlier this month.

With Sunday's win, the Illinois native earned 20 million yen as well as a berth at the July 14-20 British Open.
