Masahiro Fujita slammed a two-run homer to lead a 20-hit attack as Koryo crushed Yokohama High School 15-3 in the final of the 75th national high school baseball invitational tournament Thursday.
Koryo claimed its first invitational title since 1991 and its third championship overall. It was its first final appearance in 12 years.
"The game proceeded differently from what I had expected. Our players did their best by believing in themselves at a stadium we have dreamt of. I'm so happy I can't contain my tears," Koryo manager Tetsuyuki Nakai said.
