Hideki Matsui said Monday he will be thrilled the moment he slips into New York Yankees pinstripes when he is officially introduced at a press conference on Tuesday.

"It'll be my first time to actually wear a (Yankees) uniform so there's no doubt I'll be excited. I'm really looking forward to it," he said, adding that he does not care whether he is referred to by his nickname "Godzilla."

Matsui, who is in New York for the signing of a three-year, $21 million contract with the Yankees, skipped practice Monday due to an official interview by the club and a photo session at Yankee Stadium.

He said he has yet to prepare himself for a speech at the press conference which will be televised live by the YES (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) Network.

"I haven't given it much thought. Just so I get my point across clearly," said the 28-year-old, who laughed off a recent Japanese newspaper report that Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Kazuhisa Ishii suggested Matsui make his speech in English.
