Yoshie Onda landed all four jumps cleanly and topped the women's short program while Takeshi Honda marked the highest scores in the men's field at the figure skating national championships on Saturday.

Onda gave a flawless performance including two triple rotations as the winner of the recent NHK Trophy received first-place scores from all nine judges at the Kyoto Aquarena.

Fifteen-year-old Miki Ando, who became the first woman skater ever to execute a quadruple jump in competition at the Junior Grand Prix Final last week, ended second ahead of Sunday's free program and defending champion Fumie Suguri in third.
