Tsuyoshi Shinjo got a taste of the Game 5 victory after coming on in the top of the sixth inning with the Giants leading 6-3 in his second appearance in the Series. He played right and center field while going 0-for-2 at the plate.

After striking out in his first at-bat in the sixth, Shinjo executed a sacrifice bunt in the seventh and, in the eighth, he hit a sharp grounder which Anaheim third baseman Troy Glaus misplayed into a run-scoring error.

"To television viewers in Japan, it looked like I had an RBI single or something. I think I can live with that," Shinjo said.
