Japanese jockey Yutaka Take brushed off doubts of his comeback into major competition this year by taking his first overseas title this season and 14th overall by winning the Grade Three Prix de Saint-Georges on Sunday.

Take, who suffered a broken pelvis in a midrace spill at Nakayama Racecourse near Tokyo in February, held off Porlezza and crossed the finished line atop 3-year-old Maybe Forever at the 1,000-meter turf course at Longchamp in one of his day's six races.

Doctors had initially said it will take Take, whose last victory outside of Japan came in Hong Kong last December, three to six months to recover.
