Japan and the United States will continue technical talks for the third day Friday in Tokyo to discuss what additional steps need to be taken so Tokyo can lift its reimposed import ban on American beef, Japanese officials said Thursday.
At the talks, the U.S. has been answering Tokyo's questions about the outcome of its recent audit of 35 meatpacking facilities to check whether they have complied with bilaterally agreed upon export requirements to safeguard against mad cow disease, according to the officials.
