CHIBA – South Korea’s Kim Jong Duck marked his return to the Japanese Tour by firing a blemish-free 7-under-par 65 to take the lead after the first round of the Bridgestone Open on Thursday.
Fresh from a victory on home soil at last week’s Shinhan Open, Kim rolled in five birdies and holed a 15-foot eagle putt on the ninth to establish a one-stroke lead over New Zealand’s David Smail and Katsuyoshi Tomori.
Kim is a four-time winner on the Japanese Tour.
