In response to Hikaru Maeda's Sept. 30 letter, I think that criticism of Nova's wrongdoing is not only justified; it's long overdue. Maeda has opportunities all around to speak English. All you have to do is speak to someone!

People are so tuned to stereotypes that they think that only the gaijin (foreigners) at Nova are safe to talk to, but once those same instructors are out in plain clothes, they're just as isolated. You don't have to pay for that opportunity. You can use what you know anytime you want, but paying for the education should be about just that -- the education.

As one of the many being forced out of a temporary home thanks to the problems at Nova, I can't help but feeling sorry for the people who still insist on giving them money.
