Tochigi: Yayoi Sai

The festival is with over a 1,200-year history. Parade of Hanayatai (11 house-shaped floats, colorfully embellished with artificial cherry blossoms and paper lanterns) and three mikoshi are the highlight.

Location: Futarasan-jinja Shrine, Takino-jinja Shrine and others, Nikko, Tochigi

JR Nikko Line to Nikko Sta. or Tobu Nikko Line to Tobu-Nikko Sta. From there, take bus to Nishi-Sando Bus Stop (7 min.), and then walk 7 min.
