Yamagata: Zao Juhyo Light-up

Festival featuring the lighting up Juhyo, known as "Ice Monster," trees covered with frost.

5 p.m.-9 p.m. Juhyo lighting up

Location: along Zao Ropeway Sancho Line,, Yamagata, Yamagata

JR Yamagata Shinkansen Line to Yamagata Sta., and then take bus to Zao Onsen Bus Stop (45 min.) From there, walk to Zao Sanroku Sta. (15 min.), and then take ropeway to Jizo Sancho Sta. (17 min.)

Festival information compiled in cooperation with the Tourist Information Center of the Japan National Tourist Organization. (Shin-Tokyo Bldg. 1F, 3-3-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; (03) 3201-3331). Open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
