The Museum of the King: French Modern Art & Surrealism from the Collection of the Yokohama Museum of Art

On loan from the Yokohama Museum of Art, which is renowned for its extensive collection of international modern art, this selection of works explores works created in France, with a focus on surrealist masters.

The title of the exhibition takes its name, "The King's Museum," from a painting by Rene Magritte (1898-1967), which is being displayed with other highlights by Salvador Dali (1904-1989), Paul Delvaux (1897-1994) and Max Ernst (1891-1976). The progression of surrealism in photography is also represented through the works of Nadar (1820-1910), Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986) and Andre Kertesz (1894-1985). Yukari Tanaka
