With Oktoberfest now over, beer lovers are likely pining for more pints. Fortunately, this Halloween we are in for more treats than tricks.
The Nippon Craft Beer Festival, organized by Japan Craft Beer Support (JCBS) and the Brewers' Club, will feature a wide selection of jibeeru (microbrews) from across Japan at Sumida Riverside Hall in Tokyo.
Now in its fifth year, the event is an opportunity for brewers to show off their products in a land where very few of these suds make it to supermarket shelves.
In all, 39 breweries will showcase around 50 different jibeeru. Out of those attending, 16 will be exhibiting for the first time.
JCBS chairman Tatsuo Aoki says the event is "a chance for producers to express their gratitude to loyal customers and exchange ideas."
With such premium picks, and only a day to savor them, attendees will undoubtedly need to choose their treats wisely.
The Nippon Beer Craft Festival takes place on Oct. 31 at Sumida Riverside Hall in Tokyo. Advance passes are available for ¥3,500 and include 10 drink tickets and a festival glass. There are no passes sold on the day. For details, call (03) 3633-2120 or visit www.craftbeerfestival.org.
