A calm, clever study of the sexual psychosis a young wife suffers when her husband is serving a seven-year prison sentence. Her verbally inexpressible feelings are subtly depicted and wonderfully acted by Valerie Donzelli. Named Maite, she regularly visits her husband at the prison, and at home she smells his dirty laundry to feel his presence. Maite's unfulfilled life sees a little change when she has totally passionless sex with a young prison guard.
