Kodai Senga dominated the Arizona Diamondbacks over six scoreless innings as he led the New York Mets to an 11-1 victory on Thursday.
The Japanese right-hander allowed just two hits and two walks while fanning 10 batters in his fifth double-digit strikeout game of the season.
After surrendering a first-inning single, Senga (11-7) retired 13 straight hitters through the fifth inning at Citi Field.
He got into his first jam of the day in the sixth, loading the bases on consecutive walks before ending the inning on a Christian Walker fly out.
Over three games in September, Senga has given up just three runs in 19 innings, lowering his ERA to 2.95 and strengthening his case for both the National League Cy Young and Rookie of the Year awards.
"I'm just happy, but not really thinking about that at the moment," Senga said.
Brandon Nimmo put the Mets on the board with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the third. Jonathan Arauz rounded out the scoring with a three-run home run in the eighth.
In other MLB action, Kenta Maeda pitched seven innings of four-hit, two-run ball as the American League Central-leading Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 10-2.
Maeda (5-7) struck out eight. He gave up a two-run homer to Andrew Vaughn in the bottom of the seventh at Guaranteed Rate Field.
