The Seibu Lions said Tuesday they have reached an agreement with former major leaguer Daisuke Matsuzaka, who is rejoining the Pacific League club after a 14-year hiatus.
The 39-year-old right-hander was the Lions’ ace from 1999 to 2006 before leaving Japan to pitch in the majors, where he went 56-43 with the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets.
