LONDON – Japan ace Kei Nishikori withdrew from the Barcelona Open men’s tennis tournament, set to get under way Monday in Spain, due to pain in his right wrist, organizers said Saturday.
The world No. 5, who won the tourney in 2014 and 2015, was seeded No. 2 at this year’s meet but said in a statement that he has not recovered sufficiently from the wrist injury sustained during the Miami Open in March.
