Mike Havenaar scored a brace on the opening weekend of the Dutch top flight on Saturday, helping ADO Den Haag to a 3-0 home win over Go Ahead Eagles.

The 194-cm forward, who bagged 16 goals last season, opened this campaign's account from the spot in the 16th minute and nodded home his second in the 70th minute after Ruben Schaken's cross from the right came through to the far post.

Tyronne Ebuehi headed in the third in the 82nd minute before Havenaar was given a rest for the last five minutes of the game.

Defender Kosuke Ota also had a hand in his team's opening day victory, providing an assist in Vitesse's 4-1 away win over Willem II in his 73 minutes of play.
