RIO DE JANEIRO – Tokyo was selected to host the 2019 World Judo Championships following an International Judo Federation executive committee meeting on Friday.
IJF executive Yasuhiro Yamashita wants the championships to serve as a test event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the event set to be held at Nippon Budokan, the Tokyo 2020 judo venue.
