Kashima Antlers will take on Copa Sudamericana champion Santa Fe of Colombia in the Suruga Bank Championship this summer, the Japan Football Association announced Thursday.
Santa Fe defeated Argentina's Huracan on penalties after a 0-0 aggregate draw over two legs in December, setting up a one-game playoff between the South American Cup and the J. League Nabisco Cup holder at Kashima Stadium on Aug. 10.
Santa Fe is the first Colombian team to appear in the Suruga Bank Championship.
