NEW YORK – Masahiro Tanaka is now a dad, the New York Yankees said Monday.
Tanaka’s wife, TV personality Mai Satoda, gave birth to a baby boy weighing 3,360 grams Monday afternoon, the Yankees said. Tanaka flew back to New York from the team’s spring training facility in Tampa, Florida, to attend the delivery.
“I’ll be going into the season with a new member of the family,” Tanaka said through his Twitter account. “I hope to put in the work I need to in time for opening day.”
Tanaka will return to Tampa by Friday, when pitchers and catchers report to spring training.
