Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka blew a one-set lead on Tuesday to crash out of the Brisbane International men's draw in the first round.

Nishioka, ranked 117th in the world, lost 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to Frenchman Lucas Pouille in 2 hours, 23 minutes. Pouille, ranked 78th, fired 17 aces en route to victory.

The other Japanese player in the tournament, world No. 8 Kei Nishikori, received a first-round bye and is set to play his first singles match in the second round on Wednesday.
