Albirex Niigata have named exiting Kashiwa Reysol manager Tatsuma Yoshida as their manager for the new season on Wednesday.

Yoshida took the helm at Reysol ahead of this season and guided his side to the quarterfinals in the Asian Champions League, bu t Kashiwa struggled in the league to finish 10th in the overall J1 standings.

Reysol in late October announced they are parting ways with Yoshida at the end of the season, with Brazilian Milton Mendes subsequently appointed for next year.

The 41-year-old Yoshida remains in charge of Reysol for the Emperors Cup, with the side travelling to Vegalta Sendai in the quarterfinals on Dec. 26.

Albirex manager Masaaki Yanagishita was not offered a new contract for 2016 after stayed up in J1 with 15th-place finish, a place above the relegation zone on a six-point cushion.
