Nippon Professional Baseball decided on Friday to consider introducing more technology into its game.

The Game Operations Committee will look into expanding video replay to include close plays. Replay is currently only used to check home-run balls and catches made off the outfield wall.

The committee also decided to investigate introducing ball-tracking technology that can be used to evaluate umpires judgment calls on balls and strikes.
