FRANKFURT – Japan midfielder Takashi Inui looks set to leave Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt to join Spanish first-division side SD Eibar, according to a report Saturday in the online edition of German paper Frankfurter Rundschau.
Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hubner was quoted as saying that Inui wanted to move to Eibar, prompting Frankfurt coach Armin Veh to leave him out of Frankfurt’s squad for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Augsburg.
“He asked the coach to be allowed to seize this opportunity,” Hubner said. The report said Inui would probably join Eibar for a small transfer fee.
Inui joined German second-division side Bochum from Cerezo Osaka in the summer of 2011 before moving to Frankfurt in July on a three-year contract the following year.
