ARLINGTON, TEXAS – Yu Darvish threw for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery five months ago, the Texas Rangers said Monday.
Darvish made 25 throws at a distance of 15 meters. The Rangers said he will throw every other day for the next several weeks, gradually increasing the distance.
“It was only from around 15 meters, but I managed to throw without discomfort or pain,” Darvish said on Twitter. “I’ll look to keep progressing bit by bit.”
