Teenage ski jumping star Sara Takanashi successfully defended her title at the Miyanomori summer jump in Sapporo on Saturday.

Takanashi, a two-time overall championship winner on the winter World Cup circuit, followed up a first jump of 87.5 meters with a 92-meter effort on the K-90 Miyanomori Hill for a winning total of 218.5 points.

The 18-year-old won the Miyanomori title for the fourth time in her career. Yuki Ito was second with 217 points.

In the men's event shortened to one round of jumps because of strong winds, Daiki Ito prevailed with a jump of 97 meters for 129 points.

Veteran Noriaki Kasai also soared 97 meters but was second with 128 points.
