Yuki Ito provided the highlight for Japan on Friday at the Nordic Skiing World Championships with a silver medal in women's ski jumping.
Sara Takanashi, was fourth, unable to overcome a poor first jump. Sochi Olympic champion Carina Vogt of Germany won with 236.9 points, with Ito earning 235.1. World Cup points leader Daniel Iraschko of Austria was third with 233.8.
"Right now, I feel more frustrated than happy," Ito said. "I think because I was aiming for the gold medal, I got silver. The question, however, is whether or not I cut down on my mistakes."
