Suntory Sungoliath and NEC Green Rockets both ensured on Saturday that their seasons would last at least one more game as they booked their spots in the All-Japan Championship.
Suntory downed Ricoh Black Rams 42-14, while NEC beat NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes 33-10 in the wild card tournament for the season-ending competition.
Sungoliath's reward is a first-round matchup with University of Tsukuba, runner-up in the student competition, while the Green Rockets are scheduled to take on the collegiate champion, Teikyo University.
