Kei Nishikori moved to a career high No. 6 in the world on Monday, when the latest ATP world rankings were announced.

The 24-year-old Nishikori, who won the Japan Open in Tokyo on Sunday for his second title in two weeks, moved past Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic. Nishikori also moved up a spot into fifth place in the race to play in the eight-man ATP World Tour Finals in London, which is based solely on this season’s results.
