Japan forward Shinji Okazaki scored his fifth goal of the Bundesliga season for Mainz on Tuesday in a 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt.

A rough-and-tumble Rhine-Main derby saw Frankfurt's Takashi Inui force a good save only to miss when the rebound came back to him. Jonas Hofmann opened the scoring for the visitors in the 41st minute, and three minutes later Okazaki scored to make it 2-0 after he dispossessed Marco Russ.

Okazaki raced clear and had a teammate in space on the far side of the field, but took it on himself to hit home.

"The keeper appeared unprepared for me," said Okazaki, whose shot passed between the keeper's legs for his third goal in as many games. "I was off target and somehow it got through. I was lucky."

In Italy's Serie A, Keisuke Honda scored the equalizer in the 57th minute for AC Milan in a 2-2 draw at Empoli. It was Honda's third goal in four games this season.
