Japan will face Honduras and Australia in friendlies on Nov. 14 and 18 respectively, the Japan Football Association announced Thursday.

The national team under new Mexican boss Javier Aguirre will play Honduras at Toyota Stadium in Aichi Prefecture and Australia four days later at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka.

Aguirre said the games will be the final tune-ups ahead of his side's defense of the Asian Cup in January and the final auditions for the 23-man squad. Japan, which exited in the first round at the World Cup finals in Brazil, plays Jamaica in Niigata on Oct. 10 and Brazil in Singapore four days later.
