Nagoya Grampus on Sunday announced that their Japan Olympic team striker Kensuke Nagai is joining Standard Liege.

Nagai, who agreed terms with Liege in midweek, will join the 10-time Belgian champions on a deal running through the summer of 2017, with the transfer fee thought to be €80,000 ($105,000).

"I will try to take my game up to the next level as I face my dream of playing overseas," Nagai said in a club statement.

Liege already has Japan senior national team goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima on its books and 20-year-old striker Yuji Ono is also set to join the club from Yokohama F. Marinos.

The 23-year-old Nagai scored twice as Japan's Under-23s reached the semifinals of the Olympics in London last summer.

The fleet-footed striker joined Nagoya from Fukuoka University in 2011. He made 30 appearances last season, scoring 10 goals.
