Ninth-ranked Masayuki Kuroda will get his first crack at a world title when he faces WBA flyweight champion Juan Carlos Reveco of Argentina next month, his gym said Thursday.

The 26-year-old Kuroda, who has moved up to flyweight after returning the Japan light flyweight belt he defended four times, will take on Reveco on Feb. 27 at Kawasaki's Todoroki Arena.

"As a pro boxer, I am delighted to be able to fight for a world title," said Kuroda, who had two wins and two draws last year and holds a 21-3-2 (13 KOs) record.

"My dynamic style has been dormant and I want to box explosively again on this big stage."

The 29-year-old Reveco, also a champion at light flyweight, is 29-1 with 16 KOs.
