J. League first-division side FC Tokyo announced Saturday the acquisition of Omiya Ardija midfielder Keigo Higashi.

The 22-year-old has scored one goal in 26 matches this season with Omiya, and contributed to his country reaching the final four at the London Olympics.

Higashi played under FC Tokyo current manager Ranko Popovic during his stint with Oita Trinita from 2009 to 2010.

"I want to do my best to demonstrate my capabilities under the guidance of our manager to be a source of strength for the club," Higashi said in a statement.
