KYOTO - Former world champion Daisuke Takahashi on Sunday gave an update on the progress of his right knee, from which he had a bolt removed recently that was inserted three years ago when he underwent surgery for ligaments he tore in October 2008.
If all goes to schedule, Takahashi could resume full-scale training on ice at the end of June.
Takahashi had the bolt removed on May 19 and left the hospital on Friday. Currently, he is undergoing rehab every two days.
“It is thinner around my knee, but I feel better now that there is nothing inside my body. I might be imagining it, but it feels lighter,” said Takahashi, who was attending a seminar in Kyoto.
