The start of the 2011 Japan Series is to be pushed back to Nov. 12, two weeks later than initially scheduled, club owners decided Saturday.

The decision is in line with the March 11 earthquake-led postponement of the season openers for both the Central and Pacific Leagues to April 12 from March 25.

The owners also agreed that all 12 clubs will extend their full cooperation to complete the 144-game regular-season schedule for each team and the Climax Series league playoffs.
