Former Japan midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata's Take Action foundation announced Thursday it will stage a charity match in Singapore in aid of victims of the March 11 earthquake that has ravaged eastern Japan.

Nakata, arguably the most talented player Japan has ever produced, will feature in the Take Action team that will play a Singapore League select side on April 2.

Nakata is also doing fundraising for his quake-affected compatriots in Taiwan. A pair of soccer boots and two shirts belonging to the former Roma star had drawn a bid of more than $22,316 as of Wednesday night in a Taiwan auction, according to local media.
