The Japan Sumo Association’s special investigations committee probing a recent sumo match-fixing scandal canceled its scheduled meeting Tuesday due to travel disruption brought about by Friday’s massive earthquake and tsunami.

The committee was expected to report its findings and propose punishments for those involved in the bout-rigging scheme Friday but a member of the committee said there could be further delays.

“If new findings come to light then further meetings would have to be held,” he said.
