ARNHEM, Netherlands (Kyodo) Michihiro Yasuda was looking forward to living the dream after completing his move Friday to Dutch first-division side Vitesse Arnhem from Gamba Osaka.
"It has been a dream of mine from way back to play overseas," said Yasuda, who was given the No. 16 shirt. "Hopefully I can contribute to help the team win."
The 23-year-old Yasuda, who can operate on either side of the back line, put pen to paper after passing a medical and was scheduled to join up with his new teammates on Saturday.
"More than anything I have got the impression this is a young team with ambition," he said.
