The J. League hit Omiya Ardija with a record-tying fine of ¥20 million for forging attendance figures over a three-year stretch on Tuesday.

Omiya admitted to fixing the records of 58 games from November 2007 to October 2010, adding more than 111,000 to their totals.

"Their actions damaged the credibility of the entire J. League," league chairman Kazumi Ohigashi said.
