LAUSANNE, Switzerland – Keisuke Honda thrived in his return to an attacking role as CSKA Moscow cruised past Lausanne 3-0 away in Group F of the Europa League on Thursday.
Honda did not enter the match until the 73rd minute with CSKA already up by two, but coach Leonid Slutsky finally played Honda behind a striker and the Japanese international responded by setting up the Russian side’s third goal to put the game out of Lausanne’s reach.
