FRANKFURT (Kyodo) Japan defender Atsuto Uchida broke a toe during last week’s friendly against Paraguay, making his return for Schalke 04 uncertain, the Bundesliga outfit announced Thursday.
Uchida, who just signed with the team this summer from J. League first division champions Kashima Antlers, had to come off with one minute remaining during the Sept. 4 victory over Paraguay citing pain in his left foot.
