Former Japan striker Kazuyoshi Miura at 43 years, 5 months and 12 days became the oldest player to score in the J. League's second division on Saturday when he netted in FC Yokohama's 2-0 win at home to Fagiano Okayama.

Miura, whose goalscoring exploits in his heyday in the 1990s earned him the title of "King Kazu" rewrote his own record by sealing victory with his first goal of the season in the third minute of second-half injury time at Nippatsu Mitsuzawa Stadium.

Former Brazil international and ex-Japan coach Zico holds the oldest record in the first division, scoring at 41 years, 3 months and 12 days for Kashima Antlers in 1994.
