Yokohama F. Marinos president Akira Kaetsu said on Sunday he has reached an agreement on terms with unsettled Espanyol midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura's agent in a bid to acquire the Japan international.

Nakamura's agent Roberto Tsukuda will schedule talks with Espanyol before Yokohama begins negotiations with the Spanish first-division side, but it appears the 31-year-old is well on his way to returning to Japan for the first time in eight years.

Kaetsu did not reveal the financial terms or how long the contract would last but did say that Marinos are making a sincere effort to bring Nakamura back to the club on a full transfer.

"If possible, we want to have a short period of talks. Hopefully we can wrap it up in time for the start of the J. League season on March 6," Kaetsu said.
