SENDAI (Kyodo) Yosuke Takasu and Todd Linden drove in two runs apiece as the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles rallied to beat the Orix Buffaloes 4-3 on Friday, securing a second-place finish in the Pacific League.

Takasu singled in two runs to bring Rakuten within 3-2 in the second inning before Linden's two-run double off Yasunari Takagi (1-2) put the Eagles ahead. Rookie Hiromichi Fujiwara (5-4) allowed three runs in eight innings at Kleenex Stadium.

Kazuo Fukumori picked up his 10th save. Rakuten will host the best-of-three first round of the Climax Series playoffs against the third-place Fukuoka Softbank Hawks beginning Oct. 16.
