Oita Trinita is hoping to finally reach a decision on the future of manager Pericles Chamusca on Tuesday, Oita official Yasushi Hara said Monday.

Oita suggested last week that a defeat away to Jubilo Iwata on Sunday would spell the end for the charismatic Brazilian.

Oita was condemned to its 14th consecutive league loss after going down 3-1 at Yamaha Stadium, but senior club officials failed to reach a verdict following post-match talks.

"We have not reached a conclusion yet. Hopefully a decision will be made (on the 14th)," Hara said.

Media reports have tipped Austrian manager Ranko Popovic as a candidate to replace Chamusca at Kyushu Oil Dome, but Hara said no talks had taken place.

"His (Popovic's) agent has been pitching him to us but no negotiations have taken place," Hara said.
