Electronics maker NEC Corp. said Friday it is to disband its NEC Blue Rockets men's volleyball Premier League team as part of its cost-cutting measures amid the global economic downturn.
Registered as the first corporate volleyball team in the postwar period in 1945, NEC has won a total of four titles in Japan's top league, twice each in the Japan League and V-League, the predecessors of the Premier League.
