PEORIA, Ariz. (Kyodo) Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki stayed hot on the road to recovery from a bleeding stomach ulcer, going 5-for-10 in a five-inning minor league intrasquad game in Arizona on Friday.

Ichiro had a single, two doubles and two triples under special rules as the designated hitter, and Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu hinted prior to Friday's game against the Oakland Athletics that the eight-time All-Star's workload could be increased on Saturday.

"We're going to see how he feels in the morning. He might play some outfield tomorrow," Wakamatsu was quoted as saying by MLB.com.
